Overview

Blade-to-blade aerodynamic imbalance is one of the most under-diagnosed causes of lost production and premature drivetrain wear. When one blade sits at a different pitch angle from its neighbours, the rotor is unbalanced: output drops, loads rise, and the imbalance is often invisible from SCADA data.

The HZSN-ROBD-2000 detects it without climbing the tower. An operator sets a 4 MP camera at the tower base, films the rotating blades, and the software compares the clearance variation across the three blades to identify which blade deviates and by how much. Rotor speed is calculated in real time to within 1 rpm, abnormal yaw and rotor speed trigger automatic warnings, and a Word-format report is produced on the spot. With six hours of battery endurance, a technician can survey an entire wind farm in a single visit.

Blade zero-degree deviation is the difference between a blade's actual pitch angle and the nominal zero reference shared by the other blades. Even a deviation of one or two degrees unbalances the rotor, reducing energy capture and increasing fatigue loads on the hub, main bearing and tower.
Does the turbine need to be shut down for the inspection?
